Man's hand

This is one of the drawings I've done during Easter. It is suppose to be the hand of a man although it is too slim and seems to be a woman's one. I copied it from a photograph and tried to imitate every single detail. I do it with a pencil as it is my favourite tool to work with and I really love the shadows and the veins of it. :)

  1. It is a very naturalistic exercise, and a good practise towards the third term. You will enjoy it, because we will focus on shade (with and without blending stamps, crosshatching, and so on) and perspective, and we leave colour behind. We will also (if we have time) do printings with linolium (that will be the last exercise, planned for June). Excellent job, the hand is one of the most difficult things to draw. Check out the drawings by Courbet and check also Ingres (you might already like them).
